I’ve been asked to fill in on drums for the very first “Green Day Day”, TONIGHT, at The Garage in Burnsville, MN! Extremely last-minute, I know, but it should be a blast!
A new friend of mine, Jeff Zerwas (of Oliver’s Tale/The Number Seven), has a musical mind that is very similar to my own. I mentioned the other day that we should have a jam sometime—not for anything super serious, but just for a good time. I had no idea that I would be performing with him so quickly!
He had been asked to perform a selection of songs from Green Day’s album American Idiot, but did not have anyone to join him. Ambitious! (Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?). On Thursday, he asked me how well I knew the album, and I told him I knew it enough to learn anything quickly. On Friday (yesterday), we got together and the jam went incredibly smooth!
So, alas, I will be joining him tonight! Come out to The Garage in Burnsville, and watch us play your favorite selections from American Idiot! Then, make sure to stick around as 5 other bands play a bunch of Green Day songs from OTHER Green Day albums! Should be one hell of a good time!
