I haven’t set foot on a stage as Midnight Notion in almost a full year! Wow! Time really flies by! Whelp, I finally gave in and decided to come back, but this is no ordinary show…
The Local Music Scene is an improv comedy troupe here in the Twin Cities. They invite a local musician to each of their shows, and ask them to play a few songs. They also interview the artist about the words, and the stories behind them. Then they perform a series of hilarious improv scenes based on the lyrics. I know them all, and I’ve seen them a number of times, and I can assure you: it’s always a blast!
They’ve invited me to join them on June 13th at Bryant Lake Bowl Theater in Uptown Minneapolis, and I’ve agreed! (for the Facebook event, please RSVP here). I only have time for 4 songs, but I can’t wait to see what they do with my lyrics! On top of that, I’ve decided to debut the FULL version of my brand new song, “Heartache Collector”, which has so many rhyming words, I’m sure it will fuel some great improv!
